The US Navy announced on 29 September 2026 production Other Transaction agreements for 30 Medium Unmanned Surface Vessels (MUSV), ten each from Galliano Marine Services, HII and Saronic Technologies, according to Baird Maritime and DefenseScoop. The awards average about 40 million dollars per vessel, roughly 1.2 billion dollars in total, with first deliveries due before the end of fiscal 2027. The three designs, including HII's ROMULUS 151 and Saronic's Marauder, were selected after at-sea testing of their core capabilities, according to the Navy's robotic and autonomous systems program office.
