Overview
- Army (Ejército del Perú): Conducts land-based operations and territorial defense, with its headquarters located in Lima. It is organized into four military regions, deploying infantry, armored, cavalry, artillery, and special forces units. The branch also conducts counter-insurgency and counter-narcotics operations, primarily in the Valle de los RÃos ApurÃmac, Ene y Mantaro (VRAEM) region.
- Navy (Marina de Guerra del Perú): Conducts maritime, fluvial, and lacustrine defense, operating in the Pacific Ocean, Lake Titicaca, and the Amazon basin.
