Royal Australian Army S-70/UH-60M Ordered

Australia confirmed that it would acquire 40 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters for the Australian Army, restoring a conventional utility rotorcraft capability built on a widely used type with an established global supply chain. The decision followed persistent availability and sustainment problems with the MRH-90 Taipan, which the Black Hawk replaces. The UH-60M carries troops, supports special operations and provides aeromedical evacuation, and its commonality with United States Army aircraft simplifies training, spares and combined operations. Deliveries were planned to run through the second half of the decade, with the first aircraft due to arrive later in 2023.
