Philippine Air Force SF-260 Crash

A Philippine Air Force SF-260 trainer crashed on farmland at Pilar, in Bataan province northwest of Manila, during a training flight, killing both pilots aboard. The aircraft came down in a rice field and no injuries were reported on the ground. The air force said an investigation into the cause had been ordered. The SF-260 is the service's screening and basic training aircraft, flown mainly from Fernando Air Base in Batangas, and Philippine examples have also been fitted for light armed missions against insurgent groups. The type is among the longest-serving aircraft in the Philippine inventory.
