Indonesian Air Force C-130J Delivered

The Indonesian Air Force formally received the first of five C-130J-30 Super Hercules transports at a ceremony at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta, two days after the aircraft arrived in the country from the manufacturer. The J model supplements a C-130 fleet Indonesia has operated since the 1960s, bringing longer range, greater payload and a two-crew flight deck. The archipelago's geography makes tactical airlift central to military logistics and to disaster relief across thousands of islands, and the remaining four aircraft were scheduled for delivery over the following two years.
