Philippine Air Force C-130J Ordered

The Philippine Department of National Defense issued the notice to proceed for three new C-130J-30 Super Hercules transports for the Philippine Air Force, awarding the project to Lockheed Martin. The acquisition began in 2021 under the second horizon of the Armed Forces of the Philippines modernisation programme, with the three aircraft scheduled for delivery in July 2026, October 2026 and January 2027. The stretched C-130J-30 offers about five metres more cargo space than the standard model. The air force has long relied on older C-130 variants for disaster relief and inter-island logistics across the archipelago.
