Description
The United States Air Force received its third and fourth F-15EX Eagle II fighters at Eglin Air Force Base, where they joined the operational test fleet alongside the first two aircraft delivered in 2021. The new pair introduced Air Force-specific changes over the earlier jets, including cockpit pressure warning equipment, an HF satellite communications antenna and a redesigned forward fuselage. The F-15EX is intended to replace ageing F-15C and F-15D air superiority fighters in the Air National Guard, and carries a larger weapons load and a digital backbone that no earlier Eagle variant offered.
