Royal Jordanian Air Force F-16 Block 70 Ordered

Lockheed Martin told Janes on 11 January 2024 that Jordan's letter of acceptance for new F-16s had been converted into a firm contract for 12 F-16 Block 70 aircraft with General Electric engines. The US State Department had approved in February 2022 a possible sale of up to 12 single-seat and four two-seat aircraft, and the original 2022 letter covered eight Block 70/72 jets. The contract value was not disclosed. The new-build Block 70s will join the Royal Jordanian Air Force's fleet of upgraded F-16A/B aircraft.
