Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Air Force Mi-8/17 Crash

An Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Air Force Mi-17 crashed near Feroz Koh in Ghor Province while supporting a rescue mission after a civilian vehicle entered a river. Afghanistan’s Defence Ministry said a technical problem prompted an attempted emergency landing, during which the helicopter struck a wall and crashed beside the river. The ministry reported that one person was killed and twelve passengers were injured. Public reporting did not establish the exact number of people aboard or identify a more specific technical cause.
