People's Liberation Army Naval Air Force J-15/Su-30/33 Crash

A Shenyang J-15 carrier-borne fighter of the People Liberation Army Naval Air Force crashed on the island of Hainan. The pilot ejected safely. The J-15, developed from an unfinished Su-33 prototype acquired from Ukraine, equips the air wings of the carriers Liaoning, Shandong and Fujian, and Hainan hosts major naval aviation infrastructure supporting South China Sea operations. Chinese authorities do not routinely publish accident details, and no cause was announced.
