Description
Norway received its 51st and 52nd F-35A on 1 April 2025, completing the fleet of 52 aircraft ordered and making it the first F-35 partner nation to fulfil its programme of record, Lockheed Martin said. The aircraft joined the fleet based at Ørland Air Station, the Royal Norwegian Air Force's main fighter base. Norway's defence minister welcomed the arrival of the last of the 52 jets ordered, and Lockheed Martin said the fleet improves interoperability across the Norwegian Armed Forces, strengthens the country's defence in the High North and supports NATO operations. Norway's F-35As replaced the F-16 as the service's sole fighter type.
