Indian Air Force Su-30 Shot down

The Indian Air Force lost a Su-30MKI on 7 May 2025 during Operation Sindoor, India's strikes on targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Pakistan's military claimed that night to have shot down several Indian jets, a Sukhoi among them. In July 2025 the chief of staff of the French air force told the Associated Press, in remarks carried by Al Jazeera, that he had seen evidence pointing to three Indian aircraft losses: a Rafale, a Russian-made Sukhoi and a Mirage 2000. India has not detailed the circumstances in which the Sukhoi was lost, and the attribution to Pakistani fighters rests on Pakistan's account.
