Indonesian Air Force KAAN Ordered

Indonesia and Turkey signed an agreement for 48 KAAN fifth-generation fighters on 11 June 2025 at the Indo Defence exhibition in Jakarta, the first export sale of the Turkish Aerospace fighter. The aircraft are to be delivered over ten years and the agreement includes technology transfer, with production in Turkey supported by Indonesian industry; the value was not disclosed. FlightGlobal reported that the production contract for the 48 aircraft was signed on 29 July 2025, and noted questions about Indonesia's ability to fund the purchase alongside its stake in South Korea's KF-21 programme. Turkey expects its own first KAAN deliveries in 2028.
