Description
A Philippine Air Force SF-260 trainer aircraft (tail No. 10-39, call sign Cougar Delta 1) crashed in a forested area in Sitio Cabuyao, Tuba, Benguet on May 20, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time. The aircraft was part of a 10-plane formation that had departed Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas, en route to Baguio City when it went down. Both crew members — an instructor and a student pilot — were killed in the crash. The gray, white, and orange aircraft bore the Philippine Air Force insignia. Recovery teams were dispatched to the remote forested mountain terrain. An investigation was launched to determine the cause.
