Description

A Chilean Air Force ENAER T-35 Pillán training aircraft from the Capitán Manuel Ávalos Prado Aviation School suffered an engine emergency during a transfer flight from El Bosque Air Base, Santiago, to Antofagasta. The crew executed a forced landing approximately 30 km north of La Serena, in the commune of La Higuera, Coquimbo region, after which the aircraft was destroyed by fire. Both occupants evacuated with minor injuries and were transported by a PARASAR Black Hawk to the FACh clinical hospital for evaluation. The Chilean Air Force initiated a formal investigation examining the aircraft, maintenance records, weather conditions, and crew statements to determine the cause of the engine failure.
