Description
An Indian Air Force An-32 transport aircraft of 43 Squadron crashed on June 13, 2026, at around 10:00 local time while attempting to land at Jorhat Air Force Station in the Rowriah area of Assam, after completing a routine sortie. The aircraft caught fire on impact, prompting an immediate emergency response. Five IAF personnel on board were killed, while the co-pilot survived and was hospitalised. The IAF constituted a court of inquiry to determine the cause of the accident. The An-32 is a twin-engine tactical transport that has formed the backbone of the IAF medium-airlift fleet for decades.
