Description
A Myanmar Air Force Mi-17 transport helicopter was destroyed on 23 June 2026 near Twinma village, about 19 km south of Myaing town in Magway Region, when resistance fighters struck it with first-person-view (FPV) kamikaze drones. According to the local People's Defence Force, the drones hit the helicopter after it completed a supply run to regime troops in the area and was preparing to take off; one crew member was reported killed. The junta said the aircraft went down due to a technical fault. Regime forces later burned the wreckage. It is described as the first helicopter destroyed by a non-ethnic resistance force in Myanmar's civil war.
