Description
The French Navy took delivery of its first two Falcon 2000LXS Albatros maritime surveillance and intervention aircraft at Lann-Bihoué Naval Air Base in Brittany on 27 and 31 July 2026, France's defence procurement agency DGA announced on 8 September, followed by Dassault Aviation the next day. Both aircraft join Flottille 24F. Ordered under the AVSIMAR programme launched in 2020 (seven in December 2020, five more in 2025), the Albatros replaces the Falcon 50M and Falcon 200 Gardian in the maritime surveillance role. A third aircraft is due by the end of 2026, then two per year until all twelve are delivered in 2031.
