An MH-60S Seahawk assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 5 "Nightdippers", embarked with Carrier Air Wing 7 aboard USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77), made an emergency water landing in the Arabian Sea in the early hours of July 1, 2026 while operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. Three of the four aircrew were recovered in stable condition aboard the carrier. The fourth crew member, the squadron's commanding officer, remained missing; the search was called off after more than four days and the officer was declared deceased.
