Russian Air Force Su-27/30/35 Shot down

A Russian Air Force Su-35 (tracked under the Su-27/30/35 line) was shot down on 8 July 2026 near the village of Mostky, roughly 42 kilometers from the front line in Luhansk Oblast. Ukraine's Air Force claimed the kill; video released by Ukrainian forces showed the aircraft burning on the ground. The pilot is reported to have ejected safely. OSINT analysts suggested the pilot may have believed he was operating outside the effective range of Ukrainian air defenses due to inaccuracies in maps distributed by the Russian Ministry of Defence. The weapon system used has not been officially confirmed.
