Description
The Washington Post reported on 13 August 2026, citing three US officials, that the American military had lost at least 45 MQ-9 Reapers since the start of the war with Iran, roughly a quarter of the fleet and more than 1.3 billion dollars of airframes. The tally covers combat losses as well as non-combat write-offs, including aircraft that crashed after the control link with their operators failed. Attrition has been heaviest around the Strait of Hormuz, where the Reaper's low operating altitude and slow speed leave it exposed to Iranian air defences. This entry records the nine airframes not already documented individually.
