Description
An Indonesian Air Force Su-30MK2 serialled TS-3011 ran off the western end of runway 13 at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport near Makassar, South Sulawesi, on 24 August 2026. A passing motorist reported smoke behind the aircraft, and dry grass beside the strip caught fire, drawing a response from airport fire crews. Nobody was hurt and civil traffic continued on the second runway. The aircraft belongs to Air Squadron 11, which flies the whole Indonesian Flanker fleet from the co-located air force base. The extent of the damage had not been assessed when the incident was first reported.
