Philippine Air Force S-70i Delivered

The Philippine Air Force accepted the last seven S-70i Black Hawk helicopters of a 32-aircraft order at a turnover ceremony in the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing hangar at Villamor Air Base on 26 August 2026. The batch closes the Combat Utility Helicopter acquisition project signed in 2022, worth about 32 billion pesos, with the aircraft built by PZL Mielec in Poland. Combined with an earlier 16-aircraft order placed under the same modernisation programme, of which one was lost in a crash in Tarlac in 2021, the service now operates 47 S-70i, which it describes as the largest fleet of the variant in the world.
