Description
An Mi-28 attack helicopter was destroyed in the Ukrainian drone strike on the military helicopter parking area at Sochi International Airport, in Krasnodar Krai, on 4 September 2026. Post-strike satellite imagery showed damage at the position where the helicopter had been parked, next to a destroyed Ka-52 and a damaged Mi-8. The attack, attributed to FP-1 long-range strike drones, formed part of a wider raid on the Sochi area that also hit fuel storage and an air-defence position. Neither the Russian Ministry of Defence nor local authorities acknowledged the loss of the helicopters.
