Description
The FP-1 is a Ukrainian long-range, one-way attack drone developed and produced by Fire Point. Conceived in mid-2022 by a team of former aerospace engineers and defense analysts, the program reached initial prototype flight in early 2024. Full-scale production commenced in October 2024 at covert facilities near Kyiv, and the system was introduced into service in late 2024. By mid-2025, production expanded from 30 to over 100 units per day, with cumulative production exceeding 5,000 units.
The aircraft features a slender fuselage with fixed straight wings, powered by a two-cylinder engine driving a propeller, and utilizes a solid rocket booster for launch. The airframe is constructed with radar-absorbent materials. For guidance, the FP-1 utilizes inertial navigation systems augmented by satellite guidance, integrated with electronic counter-countermeasure capabilities. The drone carries a modular warhead weighing between 60 kg and 120 kg, which can be configured for fragmentation or shaped-charge effects. The aircraft can also carry two deployable FPV drones on its wings.
Deployed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for deep-strike missions, the FP-1 has a maximum range of 1,600 km. It has targeted ammunition depots, command posts, and air defense batteries at operational ranges exceeding 1,200 km. The drone's unit cost is estimated at US$55,000.
