Description
An Mi-8 transport helicopter was damaged in the Ukrainian drone strike on the military helicopter parking area at Sochi International Airport, in Krasnodar Krai, on 4 September 2026. Imagery published after the attack showed the aircraft still on the apron with visible damage, while a Ka-52 and an Mi-28 parked nearby were destroyed outright. The strike was attributed to FP-1 long-range drones and accompanied attacks on a fuel depot and a surface-to-air missile position near the city. The extent of the damage has not been established and the helicopter is treated here as repairable, with no change to the active fleet.
