Description
The U.S. Air Force's last operational HH-60G Pave Hawk, tail number 27045, made its final flight at Moffett Federal Airfield, California, on 10 September 2026 with the California Air National Guard's 129th Rescue Wing, which marked the type's divestment with a ceremony. According to Air & Space Forces Magazine, the few G-model helicopters still held in inventory are to be processed out by 30 September, the end of the fiscal year. Flown for more than three decades as the service's combat search-and-rescue helicopter, the Pave Hawk is replaced by the HH-60W Jolly Green II, which brings a digital glass cockpit, improved hot-and-high performance and double the internal fuel capacity.
