Description
Hours after its morning claim, the IRGC said on 15 September 2026 that the same air defence system had destroyed another MQ-1 east of the Strait of Hormuz, putting at four the MQ-1 drones Iran said it had downed in a week, the Army's claim of 8 September included. The variant was not disclosed. The US Air Force retired its MQ-1 Predators in 2018, and the Army's MQ-1C Gray Eagle is the MQ-1 variant still in US service, so the loss is recorded against it. US officials confirmed at least two MQ-1 losses in those days without saying which.
