Royal Australian Army Tiger Retired

The Australian Army ended flying operations with its EC665 Tiger armed reconnaissance helicopters in the last week of September 2026, with farewell flights over Darwin by the 1st Aviation Regiment ahead of the type's formal withdrawal on 30 September. Australia acquired 22 Tigers, in service since 2004, and the ABC reported that six had already been withdrawn for maintenance reasons before the fleet retirement. The regiment is converting to the AH-64E Apache, of which six have been delivered to Townsville, where the unit is relocating, with all 29 due by the end of 2029. The fate of the airframes had not been decided.
