Description
The US Air Force awarded Boeing a contract, dated 25 September and announced on 29 September, for four more MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters. It is the first full-rate production order for the type and is worth about 85 million dollars including sustainment work, according to Air Force Times. Deliveries of the four aircraft are expected in 2028 or 2029. The award brings the number of Grey Wolfs under contract to 42, the current program of record after the 2024 cut from 80, with 27 delivered so far. Developed from the Leonardo AW139, the MH-139A is replacing the UH-1N Huey for intercontinental ballistic missile field security and convoy support at Malmstrom, F.E. Warren and Minot.
