Belgian Air Force F-35A Delivered

Three Belgian F-35A Lightning IIs, FL-013, FL-015 and FL-016, landed at Florennes Air Base on 25 September 2026 after leaving Lockheed Martin's Fort Worth plant on 15 September alongside jets bound for Finland and crossing the Atlantic via the Azores with US Air Force KC-135 tanker support. Their arrival brings the number of F-35As stationed in Belgium to seven, with eight more at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, for aircrew training. One further aircraft, FL-014, is expected before the end of 2026. According to Aerospace Global News, the arrivals clear the way for the first Belgian F-16s to be handed over to Ukraine.
