Spanish Air Force A330 MRTT Delivered

Airbus Defence and Space delivered the third A330 MRTT multi-role tanker transport to the Spanish Ministry of Defence on 20 October 2026, Infodefensa and El Español reported. The handover took place at the Getafe facility near Madrid, where the conversion was done. The aircraft is a second-hand A330-200 from Iberia's fleet. It joins Ala 45 at Torrejón de Ardoz air base, which received the first two in April and October 2025. It completes the November 2021 contract, worth €675 million, for three converted airliners with spares, ground support and training. According to Infodefensa, Spain plans to grow the fleet to six aircraft by ordering new-build MRTT+ tankers through a framework agreement with Poland.
