Description
Middle Wallop Flying Station, also known as AAC Middle Wallop or the Army Aviation Centre, is a military facility located in the United Kingdom. Established in 1939, the installation has operated as the Army Aviation Centre in its current form since August 1, 2009.
The station is operated by the Army Air Corps. It houses the Headquarters Army Air Corps and the headquarters of the 1st Aviation Brigade Combat Team. The garrison includes two training units: 2 (Training) Regiment AAC, which encompasses 668 Squadron, 676 Squadron, and 671 (HQ) Squadron, and 7 (Training) Regiment AAC, consisting of 653 Squadron and 673 Squadron.
Middle Wallop Flying Station operates AH-64E Apache helicopters, with 7 (Training) Regiment AAC providing flying training for the aircraft.
