Description

Al-Dailami Air Base is a military installation located 15 kilometers north of Sana'a, Yemen. The facility shares a runway with Sana'a International Airport.

The base hosts the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th Aviation Brigades, alongside the 101st and 110th Air Defense Brigades. Aircraft types hosted at the facility include MiG-29 fighter jets. Base infrastructure also includes military radar facilities.

During the 2011 Yemeni revolution, uprising forces attacked the air base on October 30. The assault destroyed multiple combat-ready fighter jets on the ground, including at least one MiG-29, using mortar shells and planted explosive charges.

Between March 26, 2015, and January 21, 2022, Al-Dailami was the target of 154 Saudi-led coalition air raids, comprising up to 456 individual airstrikes. On January 12, 2024, United States and United Kingdom forces conducted airstrikes against Houthi targets at the installation. The following day, US forces executed a cruise missile attack specifically targeting the base's radar facilities. On May 6, 2025, the Israeli Air Force conducted an airstrike on the base.
