Description
Cotopaxi Air Base is located in Latacunga, the capital of the Cotopaxi Province in Ecuador. The facility is situated within a valley of the Andes, with rising terrain to the east and west and mountainous terrain in all quadrants.
Current operations at the facility include heavy cargo transport. Cargolux operates Boeing 747 freighter aircraft from the base for routes to Europe. Previously, Cargo B Airlines conducted freighter operations at the site using Boeing 747 aircraft. The infrastructure supports the operation of large-frame cargo aircraft.
