Description
Tolemaida Army Airfield, officially designated the Teniente General Gustavo Rojas Pinilla Army Air Field, is a Colombian Army installation located in Nilo, Cundinamarca. The airfield is a component of the Tolemaida Military Fort. While the facility is situated in the Cundinamarca department, it is located adjacent to the town of Melgar in the Tolima Department.
The base is the home of the Colombian National Training Center and is operated by the Colombian Army. It functions as a location for army aviation and military training.
Infrastructure at the facility includes runways with asphalt and concrete surfaces. The airfield supports the operation of transport aircraft, including the Lockheed C-130 Hercules.
