Description

Tympaki Air Base is a military airfield at Tympaki, on the island of Crete, Greece. The Hellenic Air Force owns and operates it.

The Hellenic Air Force unit designated 138 SM operates at the airfield. The base also hosts the 24th Guided Missile Squadron, attached to the 350th Guided Missile Wing, which operates MIM-104 Patriot PAC-3 surface-to-air missile batteries. A TACAN system provides navigation support. The airfield is also the home field of a civilian gliding club flying K 7 and K 8 gliders and ultralight aircraft.
