A resident of Pardina filmed a Russian drone flying low over the village. An alert had been issued beforehand for the Chilia Veche–Vylkove stretch of the Romanian-Ukrainian border warning of a high probability of drone impacts on Romanian territory. Two Romanian F-16s and then two German Eurofighters were scrambled to monitor the airspace.

An Italian Eurofighter on NATO Baltic Air Policing duty destroyed an unidentified drone over eastern Latvia before dawn on 14 August, the second time the alliance's quick-reaction force has shot one down over the country this year.
