İskenderun Naval Base (İskenderun Deniz Üssü)

İskenderun Naval Base (İskenderun Deniz Üssü) is a Turkish Navy installation on the north-eastern Mediterranean coast, east-north-east of İskenderun in Hatay Province, southern Turkey. It lies adjacent to the commercial Port of İskenderun and is subordinate to the Turkish Navy's Southern Sea Area Command.

The base command hosts the İskenderun Naval Training Center, the largest of the Turkish Navy's three recruit training establishments, the others being battalion-sized units at Sarıyer in Istanbul and at İzmir. The center is sited south of İskenderun on the O-53 / E91 motorway and is built around the İskenderun 1st Seamen Training Brigade (İskenderun 1'inci Deniz Er Eğitim Alayı). Intakes of between 2,500 and 5,000 recruits are trained twice yearly in 45-day courses covering shipboard duties and marine operations. More than 1.5 million ratings have passed through the center.

Supporting facilities include the 200-bed İskenderun Naval Hospital, which serves all naval establishments in the İskenderun area.

The training center was established in 1953. A two-storey building in the city center served as the headquarters of the İskenderun Naval Base Command from 1942.
