Jeju Naval Base (Jeju Civilian-Military Complex Port)

Jeju Naval Base, formally the Jeju Civilian-Military Complex Port for Beautiful Tourism, is a joint civil and military port operated by the Republic of Korea Navy at Gangjeong village on the southern coast of Jeju Island, Jeju Province, South Korea. The installation is owned by the Republic of Korea and is not open to the public.

The port accommodates up to 20 military vessels alongside occasional civilian cruise ship calls. Part of the complex is given over to civil use, including a cruise ship terminal, fishing infrastructure, a dive school, restaurants, places of worship and a football pitch.

The base was built by the South Korean government between 2012 and 2015 at a projected cost, as of 2011, of ₩977 billion, and entered use in 2016. Construction was contested locally and was halted on seven occasions by 2011 by protesters citing environmental impact and the project's perceived orientation toward United States regional policy; the South Korean Supreme Court upheld the construction in July 2012.
