Italy Navy Spartaco Schergat Delivered

The frigate Spartaco Schergat was delivered to the Italian Navy at Fincantieri's Muggiano shipyard near La Spezia on 15 April 2025, the ninth FREMM built for Italy. Laid down in February 2021 and launched in November 2023, she is the first of two units completed in a hybrid general-purpose and anti-submarine 'ASW Enhanced' configuration, procured to replace the two general-purpose FREMMs sold to Egypt. The 6,700-tonne design carries Aster surface-to-air missiles, Teseo anti-ship missiles, a variable-depth sonar and two 76 mm guns.
