Overview
The Italian Navy is enhancing its position as a key maritime power in the Mediterranean and expanding its operational reach. Its strategy is centered on protecting national interests in the "enlarged Mediterranean," a region stretching from the Strait of Gibraltar to the Gulf of Aden, while also increasing its presence in the Indo-Pacific to support international security and stability.
