Description
Destroyed while laid up at Bandar Abbas Naval Base over the weekend of 12–13 July 2026, when three Saronic Corsair one-way attack unmanned surface vessels struck the port's submarine and ship maintenance facility. CENTCOM stated the strike marked the first combat employment of armed sea drones by American forces and degraded Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping. The Corsair is a 24-foot autonomous craft with a 1,000-nautical-mile range and a 1,000-pound payload. Based on the North Korean Yono design, the Ghadir class is a ~120-tonne midget submarine; this is the second Ghadir lost in the conflict, after one destroyed near the Strait of Hormuz in March.
