Yushan-class

The Yushan-class landing platform dock was developed by CSBC Corporation for the Republic of China Navy (ROCN). The class is designed to maintain the ROCN's inventory of landing platform docks at two active vessels, with four ships planned in total. The lead ship of the class replaces the retired ROCS Chung Cheng (formerly USS Comstock), while a second planned vessel is intended to replace ROCS Hsu Hai (formerly USS Pensacola). Design development for the class began in early 2015, and the design was publicly unveiled in May 2016. The keel of the lead vessel was laid in June 2020.

The vessels are configured to support both military and humanitarian operations, serving as amphibious operation command ships, motherships for small landing craft, and logistics transports to supply islands lacking harbor facilities. For transport operations, the ships can carry amphibious armored personnel carriers and troops. Aviation facilities include a single flight deck and two hangars configured to house utility and naval helicopters. To aid survivability, the design incorporates radar signature reduction features and electromagnetic pulse protection. The ships are equipped with a main gun, close-in weapon systems, and modular launchers for surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles.

The lead ship, Yushan, was launched in April 2021. The vessel commenced sea trials in July 2022 and was delivered to the ROCN by CSBC Corporation in September 2022. Yushan was commissioned in June 2023 and is currently active.
