Description
A Ukrainian Air Force Mi-8 transport helicopter was damaged during a Russian Geran-2 loitering-munition raid on Mala Vyska Airfield in Kirovohrad Oblast. The same strike destroyed an Mi-24 parked in the open, and drone footage showed both helicopters sitting outside reinforced shelters without camouflage netting or visible point air defence. The Mi-8 sustained repairable damage rather than being written off, and Ukrainian sources indicated it was recovered for repair. The raid highlighted the vulnerability of dispersed rotary-wing assets to camera-guided Geran variants, which can loiter over airfields and select individual parked airframes.
