A U.S. Army CH-47F Chinook heavy-lift helicopter was destroyed on the ground at Camp Buehring in northwestern Kuwait after being struck by an Iranian Shahed-136 one-way attack drone. Photographs that surfaced online showed the cockpit area charred and gutted, with the forward rotor assembly heavily damaged. Aviation analysts assessed the airframe as beyond economical repair. Camp Buehring, a major U.S. Army staging post in the region, had been subjected to repeated Iranian drone and missile attacks since the start of Operation Epic Fury. No crew casualties were reported from this specific strike.
