Description
A CH-53E Super Stallion was destroyed on the ground at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait during Iranian drone attacks on US installations on 3 April 2026, part of the Iranian response during Operation Epic Fury. Iranian satellite imagery released in mid-April confirmed the loss alongside a previously reported CH-47 Chinook destroyed at nearby Camp Buehring. The strike targeted rotary-wing assets parked on the main ramp. Ali Al Salem, home to the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, is one of the principal US airlift and logistics hubs in the Gulf. No personnel casualties were reported from the strike.
