Description
An F-15E Strike Eagle was damaged during an Iranian missile attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base near Azraq, Jordan. The strike damaged or destroyed several US aircraft at the base, including at least two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and an MQ-9 Reaper. Two US service members were killed and one was reported missing in the attack. The Strike Eagle sustained repairable damage and was not written off, unlike the F-15E lost to Iranian air defences over western Iran on 3 April. Muwaffaq Salti had served as a forward operating location for US strike and combat search and rescue assets throughout the campaign.
