United States Air Force MQ-9 Reaper Shot down

Iranian media reported on 1 September 2026 that Iranian air defences shot down a US MQ-9 Reaper over Khomein, in the central province of Markazi, roughly a quarter of an hour before Iranian forces in the area launched a ballistic-missile salvo at US positions in the region. The report, carried by the semi-official Tasnim agency and relayed by regional outlets, did not name the weapon system used. US Central Command announced strikes on IRGC air-defence sites, radars and maritime assets the same day but made no reference to the loss of an aircraft, and no US confirmation has been issued.
