Description
Bandar Abbas International Airport is located 12 kilometers east of Bandar Abbas in the Hormozgan Province of southern Iran. The facility is owned by the Government of Iran and functions as a joint public and military installation.
The airport is operated by the Iran Airports Company, the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy Aviation, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. It serves as a focus city for Iran Air and Karun Airlines. Civil operations include domestic regional flights and international services to Persian Gulf destinations such as Dubai, Doha, and Sharjah.
The infrastructure is capable of supporting widebody aircraft, including the Boeing 747 and Boeing 777. Military units stationed at the facility operate F-4 Phantom II aircraft.
